Cainark Dog Training is the sister company to the award-winning Country Pooch Dog Daycare Centre. Originally starting out as Country Pooch dog training in 2020, it was soon becoming apparent that we were building a reputation helping many big guarding breeds and ‘Country Pooch’ just didn’t quite fit! Cainark Dog Training was established in 2023 and we have been able to reach and help more owners than ever before, from miniature dachshunds to great danes.

Cainark Dog Training implements positive reinforcement training techniques to help increase engagement from your dog as well as focusing on educating the owner to understand the ‘how and why’ dogs behave. Using these methods, as well as pooling all our trainer’s knowledge and experience, has given us our own successful Cainark training style of dog training. Offering group training classes, puppy courses, training walks, 1:1 behavioural sessions and drop in workshops, Cainark Dog Training has a great pathway set up to help you and your dog excel to become the perfect pet you always dreamed of.

We love getting feedback from our clients. We are proud to have gained the trust of our valued clients. Read below to see what’s been said about Cainark Training.

Thank you so much Cainark Dog Training, I have just finished a package of four 1:1s with Steve for my reactive rescue staffweiler. I have tried a handful of trainers and behaviourists and never got anywhere and just told often that he may never change. Steve has given me tools to manage Barney’s reactivity, to reduce his reactivity and also given me confidence that I am able to manage him myself. I thought I knew quite a lot about dog behaviour and reactivity but I have learnt a lot by working with Steve. On our last session today Barney was amazing and it actually made me quite emotional seeing how fab and how different he was. Thank you so much Steve you have given me hope and the belief that Barney will get better and reminded me just how fab a dog he is ❤️💙

We just completed the Puppy Course (Level 1) and had the most brilliant experience! We feel so much more confident than we did when we started and the training has undoubtedly brought us much closer to our new four-legged family member. Not only did we learn lots of different commands and tips but the way everything was explained to us has helped us to really understand some of the key principles of dog training. We attended as a family, with our little boy, and looked forward to it each week! The atmosphere felt calm and the amount of 1-1 feedback we got throughout was fantastic. Thanks SO much for being brilliant trainers👏🙂

Steve has been brilliant with our dog Finn by helping us improve reactivity when people come in the house. We have had behaviourists in the past and were feeling helpless and stressed as nothing has worked, but Steve made us feel at ease straight away and was really calm and confident with Finn. He showed us really clear steps to help with his reactivity and to build his confidence. We are now building his confidence more and more everyday and have seen amazing results in the 4 sessions that we have had. I always felt very nervous about social situations and Steve has helped me feel more confident when handling and working Finn. We have seen a massive difference in his behaviour, I couldn't recommend Cainark enough. Thank you for all your help!

Highly recommend. Me and my puppy have attended the puppy 6 week course, their knowledge, understanding and empathy for dogs was brilliant. Reg is an independent, fun loving westie who wants to meet everybody, sniff everything and play 🤪 so its great to learn to keep his focus on me, calm him down and his loose lead walking has improved lots. You learn many commands in a relaxed and positive environment. They have taught me effective methods that can be applied in the long run to train Reg and I now feel better and a more aware dog owner. Most importantly, Reggie had great fun doing his training every Saturday morning, Thank you!

I contacted Cainark in the summer for help with my 18 month old boy who I was really struggling to walk, on the first phone call I was put at ease. From our first 1:1 Tahko adored Steve and the difference in him was incredible. Steve has not only helped to balance Tahko and his adolescent behaviours but also helped grow my confidence in handling him in different environments. Steve has always been at the end of the phone for support or just to showcase a win. Tahko is a different dog for the help and support given to us, i cannot thank Steve and Cainark Dog Training enough for giving me the skills and confidence I needed to build a better bond with my dog.

I am halfway through the 1-2-1 course with Steve and wow what a difference already. I have had and owned dogs all my life, but never had I come across a dog like my over friendly cockerpoo Hugo. He is very reactive to other dogs on a lead. After seeking help from 3 other behaviour trainers (at a very expensive expense) I didnt get on with any of them, I found they talked down to me sometimes belittling and blaming me making any confidence I did have shrink to none. I decided I was going to give up and just come to terms with the fact I had a dog who didn't like others when walking on a lead, this was until I stumbled across County Pooch & Cainark Dog Training at my local dog festival.
Within minutes of Steve meeting Hugo I knew, that he knew, what he was doing, and I was willing to give it one more try getting Hugo trained.
With the help and advice from Steve and the team I now understand where I was going wrong, and we (Hugo and I) are slowly getting to where we want to be with walks getting easier by the day. Steve and his team knew exactly what was needed for both Hugo and most importantly me. I'm becoming more confident on each walk, meaning Hugo is becoming more confident. It's true what Steve says he trains the owner who in turn trains the dog. Thanks to Steve and his team i'm finally beginning to enjoy our walks again, and hope in the future with the ongoing training i will one day see Hugo's reactivity disappear. I want to say a HUGE thank you to the whole team, you have and will continue changing our lives for the better.  Do I recommend Cainark Dog Training? 1000% yes!

Just finished a 4 week behaviour therapy for my 8.5 year old collie called Buddy. Steve was a fantastic trainer and mentor and I have more confidence in myself now to continue with the training. Steve demonstrated to us and Buddy seems happier and more relaxed and calmer than he's been for years!!!! Would 100% recommend Steve and his team for any form of dog training you require and the best thing is that Steve and Buddy got on so well together that I don't know who looked forward to the sessions the most lol!!!!

I highly recommend Cainark Dog Training! Just come back from one of their training walks with our 7 month old Rottweiler cross Doberman. Gained so much knowledge and advice from the trainers and I am so grateful that a friend of mine recommended them to me. They are super friendly and have a wealth of knowledge to share. Thank you so much Cainark, I will take all your advice and will be practicing in my garden with the lead walking!

We have a very large rescue dog Zeus who has recently completed the Adolescent training... and I have to say I never thought I could do it. Steve was amazing with Zeus and myself. His laid back teaching style made us feel at ease and his clear explanation and calm and understanding approach allowed us to flourish. All in the lovely environment at Country Pooch. I would recommend without hesitation to any dog owner. He is particularly great with large, unruly rescues and owners. We are booked onto more training and the next training walk to improve our skills and work with more distractions.
